REFUGEES IN THE YOUTHHOUSE
In the Youthhouse in the centre of Eindhoven live refugees and Dutch youngsters (students and workers). The residents originate from different cultures. Cooperation, hospitality and eating together are very important. The Youthhouse is a place where the refugees relax after a stressful period and plan for their coming future. The house forms a bridge to the Dutch society.
Every youngster is welcome in the Youthhouse. He can stay a year and if needed also longer. Together the youth make the house.
A somewhat older resident is responsible. He takes action, when external help is needed.
Conditions for the refugee to live in the house
The refugee should be able to live independently with the others.
Age 19-28 years old, however at most 2 years older than the average age of the present residents.
No psychiatirc deviations, that harm living together, like psychotic ilness.
No addictive problems.
The refugees is requested to have work or study. In some cases the foundation takes care for work in a organization with volunteers.
He should be able to pay for his living. Some sponsoring is possible.
Period of probation of one month.
Admittance is done by the committee after approval by the other residents.
